5 Reasons Why You Might Want To Take Up Blogging Today

Well it’s taken me a few days to come to the table and write this post because I have so many ideas running around in my head it’s hard to knuckle down and focus on one thing to write about here, but I think I’ve nailed it down.

In my humble opinion there are several sites out there in the ‘Internet Marketing’ niche or ‘Make Money Online’ niche that are doing or have done case studies where they have built up from scratch, showing each step from start to finish, a niche site. Most of these types of case studies are done by marketers/bloggers that have actually made money online or already are making a full time income from doing this, from memory I haven’t yet came across a blog where it’s been a newbie chronicling their journey and what they’re doing online.

That’s where I come in…

There are a couple of bloggers that I follow and learn from that have created a Niche Blog from scratch detailing everything as they go from buying a domain name right up to the stage when it’s bringing in a reasonably passive stream of income. One blogger I refer to is Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income. It’s really awesome to see this because then all we have to do is replicate this strategy to achieve a similar result. That’s the idea anyway…

I’ve been really hustling lately with building a niche site, actually I’ve built three so far and working on getting them ranked at the moment.  Not knowing all the tricks when it comes to ranking, pinging and back linking can be a slight pain but I’m getting there, thanks to a program I’ve purchased on Sniper Blogs and also a few FREE videos I’m receiving from signing up on a niche bloggers email list, not to mention learning from people like Pat.

I’m climbing up from page 38 on Google and currently down to page 2 number 1 for my target keyword which gets 40,000 searches per month and only has 8,000 competing websites…so I’m anticipating a sale soon. It ain’t easy but I guess if it was easy then everyone would be doing it, you have to hustle but I’m sure it’ll pay off.

Fingers crossed as it will really give me confidence and a boost knowing that what I am doing is working and I finally cracked ‘the code’…so to speak.

It can be both disheartening and inspiring when you see IM’ers (Internet Marketers) making anywhere between $5K and $40K per month, buying homes, travelling the world, living with absolute passion and having financial freedom all achieved by not having a job…and so for these reasons it keeps me motivated. Freedom from a job or a particular location is also very appealing of course, and nowadays is becoming more and more common.

I will explain what I meant earlier when I said it can be disheartening yet inspiring, simply put “you see how far away you are from this and yet motivated because you have begun the journey towards it”.

Anyway, back to the reason I’m writing this post…

Like I said, a few awesome Bloggers/Marketers are writing progress reports on how they’ve built up a niche site from scratch so we can all see in total transparency, exactly how this is done and how it all works.

However I recently read in a post of one of my favourite Blogs that they will be building a Blog (NOT a Niche Blog) up from scratch. Here it the idea in their own words

We’re going to build a profitable blog (on a topic not related to making money online) and show you exactly how we do it, live, from the very beginning.

We’re also going to ask you to help us choose a topic for the blog we create, and even follow along and create your own blog at the same time if you like. We’re going to create a blog and show you exactly how we build it, step-by-step, into a profitable site. We also want to inspire you to create your own money-making blog right along with us.

We (the Think Traffic team) will be showing you exactly how we select a topic, develop a brand, build the site, create the content, build the audience, become authorities on the topic and generate income from the site. First, the blog that we’ll be building for this project isn’t going to be a standard niche site or just an SEO optimized AdSense play.

Those are fun exercises, but there are two problems with niche sites: 1) they can be a little boring to build, and 2) earning $500 or $1,000 a month isn’t going to let you leave your day job.We’ll be building an authority blog on a topic that we’re excited about. Our aim will be to build a blog that earns a million dollars in revenue over it’s life.

Without a doubt, I’m going to be going along for the ride and implementing everything I’m told to,  it’d be great to have you come along for the ride so we can move forward together with the thousands of people embracing this new way of living and awesome model of a small business.
