13 Inspiring Mentors, Bloggers and Internet Marketers

October 13, 2011

Over the past year of learning about the wonderful world of IM I have connected with many wonderful characters online and made friends. Thankfully I have learned quite a bit, enough to get started and keep going implementing the things I learn along the way. When you first start out it’s easy to get discouraged and give up because it’s often hard to figure it out yourself and sometimes just having the confidence and courage to go out and make a name for yourself can stop a few people. I know because it prevented me for a while, from taking action. Besides that I found that many sales pages of some big earners online often spoke about it to show that they could relate with the strugglers and people on the verge of giving up… Are you tired of getting your hard earned money sucked away by crappy products promising [...]

I’ve Quit My Job, Now What?

October 9, 2011

It’s been 3 weeks or so since I resigned and I have to say…I can’t wait to move onwards and upwards since stagnating for so damn long! It’s been a dream for years to quit my job and say goodbye and move on and it’s awesome to have it come true. So many times I have read blogs, articles and books about people who have successful lives and credit “leaving their jobs” to their success. Took me a while to figure out how they came to that conclusion but since I’ve had that burden lifted I can see that I have seen several more opportunities I failed to see before. To be honest I don’t know how I put up with my job for so long. It’s not that it’s a bad job or anything, it’s pretty cool really, not many people have the opportunity to get paid for sharing [...]

Lifestyle Design For People In Their Late 30′s With Kids

October 5, 2011

I’ve been reading a fair few blogs lately in the lifestyle design and location independence blogosphere lately as I find it very inspiring and exciting.  Obviously it’s a personal goal of mine which I feel I’m getting close to achieving. One common theme with LD blogs I’m finding, is that many of these wonderful folks who are living the LID lifestyle (lifestyle independent) usually seem to be in their 20′s, single and living someplace in South East Asia. I’m married, in my late 30′s, with three kids all in School and don’t particularly wish to live in Thailand or Bali. I wouldn’t say no…but it’s not my goal. It sure would be nice to see more people around my age in similar circumstances living the LID life. I understand that one of the important things to remember in this day and age is that you don’t have to be a millionaire [...]

Ramblings By A Rambler

September 30, 2011

One of the things I have to do in order to live more of an unconventional life and really take things up a few notches is do things differently and try new things. A book I read a few years ago talks about conformity and if you want to be like 95% then you should do what 95% of the population do (get a job), but if you want to live like 5% of the population do then do what they do not what they say. I don’t know if it’s a generation thing or a mindset as to what is possible but it seems that many of the people that are living unconventional lifestyles and focusing on their lifestyle and heading towards location independency are around or under the age of 30. I could be wrong as I haven’t done much research on the topic but it’s great to [...]

Top 5 Rut Breaking Hacks

September 24, 2011

Over the past few years I have gotten myself in to some ruts and it’s been hard to get out of them as they seem to build up really slowly over years. That’s right…years!!There have been times when I’m motivated to make a change and take my life to the next level and as soon as I begin to move forward, an obstacle appears. Obstacles can come in different forms Mental blocks Being overwhelmed and tired of trying, nearly giving up Lack of a strategy Here’s an example from my own life and where the rut began and how I kind of got in to the rut I used to drive buses and though I enjoyed meeting people and the people I worked with, I really only took the job on because I needed an income after getting married in another country and returning home with my wife and son. [...]

How To Embrace Uncertainty…Quit Your Job

September 16, 2011

Ok so yesterday I quit my job. I gave 8 weeks notice… The goal is this: To live a location independent lifestyle and earn an income which allows me to live this way, to spend more time with my family, traveling to new places, experiencing more things, giving my kids the opportunity to do the same by providing more experiences for them, helping more people than I currently do, to have a job by choice and not out of necessity, and basically change my life in every area. I know what your thinking…“yeah, wouldn’t we all like that”, or “what a fool quitting your job”. I haven’t given myself a set time in which to achieve this but this is the first step, I need to embrace uncertainty for a while and do something drastic, put myself in a different situation and break free. Most people would do this after they [...]

It’s A Long Weary Road When Your Trying To Build A Mini Empire

September 13, 2011

Hope that doesn’t sound depressing because it’s not supposed to, but it is a lot of hustling. In between writing (what I think is great content) for my sniper blog and submitting to article directories, Web 2.0 properties, and creating blogs in order to create back links to my sniper for ranking purposes, I found myself with about 10 tabs open on my browser. An absolutely fantastic way to get yourself overwhelmed but I guess it’s also a good way to get stuff done. With all the work put in to building back links and spending so much time on just one blog I’m hoping it’s worth it. Admittedly I hadn’t put much effort in to my snipers lately, I’ve been putting if off as I’ve had a lot going on in other areas of my life. But, when it comes down to the nitty gritty, building a stream of [...]

5 Reasons Why You Might Want To Take Up Blogging Today

September 9, 2011

Well it’s taken me a few days to come to the table and write this post because I have so many ideas running around in my head it’s hard to knuckle down and focus on one thing to write about here, but I think I’ve nailed it down. In my humble opinion there are several sites out there in the ‘Internet Marketing’ niche or ‘Make Money Online’ niche that are doing or have done case studies where they have built up from scratch, showing each step from start to finish, a niche site. Most of these types of case studies are done by marketers/bloggers that have actually made money online or already are making a full time income from doing this, from memory I haven’t yet came across a blog where it’s been a newbie chronicling their journey and what they’re doing online. That’s where I come in… There are [...]

Where Is The Line In The Sand When It Comes To Making Money Online By Teaching People How To Make Money Online

September 1, 2011

This is something I used to battle with quite a lot when I first came across the concept of make money online. I knew people that were making money online by teaching people how to make money online, I even got advice from a 7 figure income earner once who told me to purchase his ebook on how he made loads of money by teaching people how to make money selling ebooks and how I could too. At around the same as this, there seemed to be an uprising of other Internet Marketers jumping on the “ethical marketing” bandwagon, it became apparent there were clearly two sides. Ethical vs Unethical I really became confused because I looked at the lifestyle of this person (the one who told me to teach people how to make money with ebooks), and the amount of money he was earning, the respect he has [...]

How I Survived A Weekend Without Internet Access And The Epiphany I Had While Away

August 30, 2011

I live in Rotorua which is the central North Island of New Zealand, my wife and kids and I went to spend time with extended family in a little bach (holiday home) and have a little fun in the snow on the weekend. The place we stayed at is a really small community off the main highway with a total of about 30 holiday homes near Lake Taupo . Only two or three were occupied so it was really quiet. No internet connection, no phone. I admit I was slightly perturbed at the thought of being away from an internet connection for two days especially when I’m trying to build my blog; but as it turned out, it was great fun. This is often the case for me, whenever there is an up and coming event, I often go with the flow till the last minute, and then make feeble attempts [...]
